Speedometer Head: Description and Operation

Battery voltage is supplied to the gauges from the METER fuse in the passenger compartment fuse box when the ignition switch is in ON or START.

The speedometer is controlled by a solid state circuit. As the wheels are turned, an electrical signal is sent from the vehicle speed sensor to the speedometer assembly. The speedometer registers the speed of the vehicle in miles per hour.
