Compressor Clutch Does Not Operate

Compressor Clutch Does Not Operate (Condenser Fan Operates Normally)


Step 1: Measure Voltage At Compressor Connector
1. Run engine at idle.
2. Turn A/C and blower switches ON.




3. Measure voltage at following terminal wire of compressor connector C114.

Step 2: Measure Voltage At Magnetic Clutch




1. Measure voltage at following terminal wire of magnetic clutch connector C114.

Step 3: Check Magnetic Clutch




1. Disconnect magnetic clutch connector.
2. Check for continuity between magnetic clutch and a body ground.

Step 4: Measure Refrigerant Pressure
1. Turn ignition switch OFF.
2. Connect high-pressure hose to manifold gauge to high-pressure gauge fitting.




3. Measure refrigerant pressure at high-pressure side.

High-pressure side:
Above 88 psi (608 kPa)

4. If not as specified, check refrigerant system. Refer to "Step 2: Checking Refrigerant Pressure.
5. If correct, replace cooler pipe No.1. Refer to 'Replacement".
