TITLE: Cold Engine Hard Start

SERVICE TIP:

CONDITION

Cold engine hard start or no start in ambient temperatures below 0°F.

CAUSE

ECM calibration not optimum at very low temperatures.

CORRECTIVE ACTION

A running change was made to ECM software to correct the cold temperature hard start condition from March 16, 2000 production. The revised ECM can be used as a field fix for cold weather area customers experiencing cold engine hard start problems. The part number of the revised ECM is 0K2BW 18 881C.
