SUBJECT:
Safety Recall: 1998-1999 Windshield Wiper Link Replacement
This bulletin provides information related to a safety recall for 1998 and 1999 Sephia windshield wiper link replacement and wiper arm attaching nut re-torque. A ball socket on the windshield wiper link may be out of tolerance, which could result in the link disengaging from the wiper motor drive arm under load, such as when pushing against ice, snow or other resistance. There is also the possibility that the wiper arm retaining nuts could be insufficiently torqued. In either case, the windshield wipers could stop functioning resulting in reduced forward visibility. Reduced visibility could result in an accident.
