Wipers - Windshield Wiper Link Pops Off of Motor

SERVICE TIP:

CONDITION

In cold weather areas where snow and ice packs around the wiper blades, the wiper link in the cowl can pop off of the wiper motor drive arm.

CAUSE

Some intermediate link ball sockets out of dimensional specifications, resulting in insufficient grip on motor and pivot arm balls.

CORRECTIVE ACTION






From 2/1/99 the factory has corrected the out of specification ball socket mold, and has made the partial link available separately. Part number for the partial link is OK2A1-67-361.
