NOTE: Manufacturer does not provide a procedure for reading Trouble codes without a scan tool.

Retrieving Diagnostic Trouble Codes
1. Connect Scan Tool to OBD-II DLC (Data Link Connector). OBD-II DLC is located below left side of instrument panel, near center console.
2. Start engine.
3. Refer to the KIA power scan/KIA data pro scan fool instruction manual and retrieve any DTCs (Diagnostic trouble codes).
4. Refer to "Diagnostic Trouble Codes". Inspect and repair any applicable condition, as instructed. P Code Charts

5. When no further codes are retrieved, proceed to After repair procedure.

After Repair Procedure
1. Erase the DTCs from ECM memory using the Kia power scan/kia data pro scan tool, or by disconnecting the negative battery cable for at least twenty seconds.
2. Locate the OBD-II DLC and connect the Scan Tool.
3. Turn ignition switch ON.
4. Start and warm engine, then run at 2,000 rpm for three minutes.
5. Verify that no DTCs (diagnostic trouble codes) are recorded.




6. If DTCs are recorded, Refer to "Diagnostic Trouble Codes".
