TITLE: Quick Disconnect Fuel Lines

SERVICE TIP:

1998 Sephia and Sportage models are equipped with quick disconnect fuel lines. This change was incorporated to improve the maintainability of the vehicles, however the fuel lines must be connected properly or they will leak.

To disconnect:






1. Push the connector towards the component,then pull the release tabs away from the component and pull the fittings apart.

To connect:






1. Push the female quick disconnect fitting completely into the male end.
2. Verify that the fitting is installed correctly by trying to pull it off without pulling the release tabs away from the fitting.

WARNING
IF THE FITTING IS NOT COMPLETELY SEALED, FUEL COULD LEAK FROM THE CONNECTION AND IGNITE. THIS COULD RESULT IN SEVERE BURNS AND PERSONAL INJURY.

CAUTION
DO NOT USE PLIERS ON THE QUICK DISCONNECT FITTING. DAMAGE TO THE LOCK FEATURE COULD OCCUR.
