Instruments - Low Fuel Warning Light Circuit Revision
SOURCE: Kia Technician Times
TITLE: Low Fuel Warning Light
APPLIES TO: 98 Sephia
98 Sportage
SERVICE TIP:
Beginning with early April 1998 production, the low fuel warning lamp circuit has been changed on both Sephia and Sportage models.
Prior to this change, when the ignition key was turned to the ON position, the low fuel warning light would illuminate along with the other dash warning lights to perform a "bulb check."
On vehicles produced after the production change, the low fuel warning light no longer illuminates when the ignition key is turned to the ON position. The low fuel warning light will still illuminate when the fuel level in the tank is at or below approximately 1/8 of a tank.
