Sephia Air Conditioner Evaporator Noise

This bulletin provides information related to a change in the Sephia A/C Expansion Valve. Some 1998/1999 Sephia models produced prior to 9/26/98 have had customer complaints of a rumbling noise coming from the evaporator area when the A/C is turned on. This noise is particularly noticeable when the vehicle is at idle.





This noise condition is caused by A/C expansion valve. To correct this noise complaint, the design of the A/C expansion valve was changed. The new A/C expansion valve is interchangeable with the previous expansion valve and should be used to correct noise complaints involving the A/C expansion valve on vehicles produced prior to 9/26/98.
