Clutch Assembly






NOTICE:
- Remove the clutch release cylinder with the clutch line connected.
- Do not remove the pilot bearing unless necessary.

REMOVAL
Clutch Cover And Disc

1. Remove in the order shown.





2 Install the SST (or equivalent).
3. Loosen each bolt one turn at a time, in a crisscross pattern, until spring tension is released. Proceed to remove the clutch cover and disc.

Pilot Bearing

1. Remove in the order shown.





2. Remove the pilot bearing with the SST (or equivalent) if necessary.

Flywheel

1. Remove in the order shown.

NOTICE:
- After removing the flywheel, inspect for oil leakage past the crankshaft rear oil seal.
- If necessary, replace the oil seal. (Refer to Section 10)





2. Hold the flywheel with the SST (or equivalent).
3. Remove the six bolts to remove flywheel.

INSTALLATION
Flywheel

1. Install in the reverse order of removal.
2. Reverse the position of the flywheel lock.
3. Wipe the bolts clean and apply sealant to the bolt threads.





4. Install the flywheel and the SST (or equivalent).
5. Tighten the bolts in the pattern shown.

Tightening torque: 71-76 ft. lbs. (96-103 Nm)

Pilot Bearing

NOTICE: Install the pilot bearing flush with the flywheel.

1. Install in the reverse order of removal.





2. Install the new bearing with a suitable tool. Reverse the position of the flywheel lock.

Bearing outer diameter: 1.378 inch (35 mm)

Clutch Disc

1. Install in the reverse order of removal.
2. Clean the clutch disc internal splines; then apply molybdenum disulfide grease to them.





3. Hold the clutch disc in position with the SST (or equivalent).

Clutch Cover

1. Install in the reverse order of removal.





2. Install the SST (or equivalent).
3. Align the dowel holes with the flywheel dowels.
4. Tighten the bolts evenly and gradually in the pattern shown.

Tightening torque: 13-20 ft. lbs. (18-26 Nm)
