Flywheel: Testing and Inspection

INSPECTION

NOTICE: Minor scoring or fuming should be removed with emery paper.





1. Inspect the contact surface of the clutch disc for scoring, cracks, and burning; resurface or replace as necessary.
2. Inspect the starter ring gear teeth for wear or damage. If necessary, replace the ring gear.





3. Measure the flywheel run out with a dial indicator. Replace the flywheel if run out is excessive.
