Clutch Disc: Testing and Inspection

INSPECTION

1. Inspect the lining surface for burning and oil contamination. Replace the clutch disc if it is badly burned or oil soaked.
2. Inspect for loose facing rivets and damaged torsional dampers. Replace the clutch disc if either is faulty.

3. Measure the depth of the lining from the face down to the head of a rivet with calipers. Replace the clutch disc if the thickness on either side is less than minimum.

Thickness: 0.012 inch (0.3 mm) minimum

4. Measure the clutch disc runout with a dial indicator. Replace the clutch disc if runout is excessive.

Runout: 0.027 inch (0.7 mm) maximum
