Control Valve Body Replacement

REMOVAL

NOTICE: Clean the transaxle exterior thoroughly with a steam cleaner or cleaning solvents before removal.





1. Support the engine with SST (or equivalent).
2. raise the vehicle and support it with safety stands.
3. Drain the ATF into a suitable container.





4. Remove the engine mounting member.





5. Remove the oil pan and gasket.
6. Disconnect all electrical connectors, remove eight bolts, and remove the control valve body.

INSTALLATION





1. Install the control valve body, (8) bolts, and wiring clips as shown.

Bolt length (measured from below the head)
(A): 1.18 inch (30 mm)
(B): 1.97 inch (50mm)
Tightening torque: 69.6 - 94.8 inch lbs. (7.9 - 10.7 Nm)

2. Install the oil strainer, and (3) bolts.

Tightening torque: 69.6 - 94.8 inch lbs. (7.9 - 10.7 Nm)

3. Connect the connectors.
4. Install the oil pan and a new gasket.

Tightening torque: 74.4 - 94.8 inch lbs. (8.4 - 10.7 Nm)





5. Loosely install nuts A and bolts B of the engine mounting member.
6. Install the engine mounting member.

Tightening torque:
28 - 38 ft. lbs. (38 - 51 Nm)
48 - 65 ft. lbs. (64 - 89 Nm)

7. Remove the SST (engine support) from the engine.
8. Pour in ATF. Check the ATF level with the engine idling and check for leaks, refer to AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FLUID.
9. Drive the vehicle and check the shift points, shift schedule, and shift quality. Refer to ROAD TEST.
