Overhaul

DISASSEMBLY
1. Disassemble in the order shown.

INSPECTION





NOTE: Inspect all parts and repair or replace as necessary.

One-Way Clutch No.2
1. Check for the following and repair or replace as necessary:





NOTICE: Assemble the one-way clutch and the inner race, then verify that the one-way clutch rotates only clockwise and smoothly.

A. Damaged or worn one-way clutch and operation.
B. Detached roller.

Planetary Carrier
1. Check for the following and repair or replace as necessary.
A. Damage or worn gear and operation.





B. Clearance between pinion washers and planetary carrier.

Clearance: 0.008 - 0.028 inch (0.2 - 0.7 mm)

ASSEMBLY





NOTE: Assemble in the reverse order of disassembly, Refering to the following.





1. Assemble the planetary carrier to the inner race.
2. Install the snap ring.





NOTICE: Install the tangs of the bearing race into the alignment holes.

3. Apply petroleum jelly to the bearing race and secure them to each side of the one-way clutch No.2 and planetary carrier assembly.

Bearing race outer diameter:
Sun gear drum side: 3.307 inch (84.0 mm)
