2. Raise the vehicle and support it with safety stands.
3. Drain the ATF into a container.
4. Remove the engine mounting member.

5. Remove the oil pan, gasket, and control valve body, refer to CONTROL VALVE BODY.

NOTICE:
- Do not reuse the gasket.

8. Remove the O-ring from the servo retainer and install it onto the SST.
9. Coat the O-ring with ATF, install the band servo assembly and SST into the transaxle case and secure it with the snap ring.

10. Set a dial indicator against the piston stem.

11. Apply compressed air through the fluid passage with a rubber-tipped air nozzle as shown and measure the piston stem stroke.

Air pressure: 57 psi (392 kPa) maximum
Stroke: 0.039-0.067 inch (1.0-1.7 mm)

12. If not within specification, select the proper piston stem from the chart.

13. Remove the band servo assembly and remove the SST.

NOTICE: Do not deform the snap ring when removing it.

14. Replace the O-rings with new ones.
15. Install the band servo assembly into the transaxle case and secure it with the snap ring.
16. Install the control valve body and oil pan, refer to CONTROL VALVE BODY.
