Front Stabilizer Bar
REMOVAL
1. Lift the front of the vehicle and support it with safety stands.
2. Remove the wheels.
3. Remove the plastic undercover.
4. Remove in the order shown in the figure, refer to REMOVAL NOTE.
REMOVAL NOTE:
Stabilizer
1. Remove the two nuts on the steering rack mounting bracket, and temporarily move the rack forward.
2. Support the engine with the Special Service Tool (SST) (or equivalent), and remove the six crossmember mounting bolts.
3. Lower the crossmember enough to allow the stabilizer to be pulled out from behind the crossmember.
INSPECTION
Visually inspect each part and replace as necessary.
INSTALLATION
Install in the reverse order of removal, refer to INSTALLATION NOTE.
INSTALLATION NOTE
Stabilizer Bushing
Align the bushing with the installation position line painted on the stabilizer bar. Locate the bushing adjacent to the position line on the stabilizer bar.
Stabilizer Nut
1. Tighten the retaining nut until the specified length of thread is exposed.
Specification: 0.28-0.44 inch (7-11 mm)
Stabilizer Bar
1. Position the stabilizer behind the crossmember.
2. Raise the crossmember into place and tighten the six mounting bolts to the specified torque.
Tightening torque: 69-93 ft. lbs. (93-127 Nm)
3. Tighten the two nuts of the steering rack mounting bracket to the specified torque.
Tightening torque: 23-34 ft. lbs. (31-46 Nm)
NOTICE: Tighten the stabilizer bracket bolts to the specified torque before lowering the vehicle. (Unloaded condition).
