Removal and Installation






REMOVAL
Tie-rod End

NOTICE: Do not damage the dust boot.

1. Remove in the order shown.





2. Loosen the nut and disconnect the tie-rod end with the SST (or equivalent).

INSPECTION
1. Inspect all parts and repair or replace as necessary.

INSTALLATION

NOTE: Install in the reverse order of removal.

Tie-rod End

NOTICE: Do not damage the dust boot.





1. Install the nut and secure it with a new cotter pin.

Tightening torque: 22-32 ft. lbs. (29-41 Nm)

Lock Nut





1. Install a new locknut and stake it, as shown.

Tightening torque: 155-200 ft. lbs. (209-279 Nm)

NOTE: After installation, check the front wheel alignment. Refer to SUSPENSION.
