Replacement Procedure

1. Discharge the A/C system.

* NOTICE
Refer to your refrigerant recovery station operating instructions for proper recovery procedures.

2. Remove the nut attaching the suction hose to the evaporator outlet line fitting.

3. Remove the bolt attaching the suction hose to the A/C compressor manifold, then remove and discard the suction hose.

4. Remove the bolt attaching the discharge hose to the A/C compressor manifold and temporarily position the discharge hose away from the A/C compressor.

5. Remove the A/C compressor manifold mounting bolt then remove the A/C compressor manifold.

6. Using a pick tool, remove and discard the two (2) 0-rings from the top of the A/C compressor.

CAUTION
Do not allow any debris to fall into the A/C compressor.

7. Lubricate the two (2) new 0-rings with the specified PAG oil and install them into the grooves in the top of the A/C compressor.

* NOTICE
The two (2) 0-rings are identical.

CAUTION
Do not allow any debris to fall into the A/C compressor.

8. Install the new A/C compressor manifold using the existing A/C compressor manifold mounting bolt.

Tightening Torque: 17 - 23 ft-lb.

9. Remove and discard the existing 0-ring from the discharge hose and install the new 0-ring.

* NOTICE
Lubricate the 0-ring with the specified PAG oil before reinstalling the discharge hose.

10. Remove the bolt retaining the discharge hose cap to the A/C compressor manifold.

* NOTICE
Discard the discharge hose cap, but retain the bolt for installation of the discharge hose.

11. Reinstall the discharge hose onto the A/C compressor manifold then install the discharge hose bolt.

Tightening Torque: 17 - 23 ft-lb.

12. Remove the bolt retaining the suction hose cap to the A/C compressor manifold.

* NOTICE
Discard the suction hose cap, but retain the bolt for installation of the suction hose.

13. Remove the shipping cap from the A/C compressor end of the suction hose, then install the suction hose onto the A/C compressor manifold and install the bolt.

Tightening Torque: 17 - 23 ft-lb.

14. Remove the shipping cap from the evaporator outlet line end of the suction hose, then attach the suction hose to the evaporator outlet line fitting and reinstall the nut.

Tightening Torque: 8 ft-lb.

15. Evacuate and charge the system.

* NOTICE
Refer to your refrigerant recovery/recycling/ charging station operating instructions for proper evacuation/charging procedures.

16. Check the A/C system for leaks.
