Condenser Fan: Description and Operation

Description

The condenser fan improves the air flow through the condenser. The condenser will still have a high volume of air flowing through it even if the vehicle is standing still. It is powered by an electric motor connected to the air conditioner control switch.

Operation

With the ignition switch in ON, voltage is provided through the WIPER fuse to the condenser fan relay. When the A/C is turned on, the PCM grounds the condenser fan relay. The condenser fan relay energizes and applies voltage to the condenser fan motor, powering it.
