Overdrive Switch: Testing and Inspection
OPERATION1. Turn the ignition switch ON.
2. Verify that the O/D OFF indicator light is not illuminated. Depress the O/D OFF switch and verify that the O/D OFF indicator light illuminates.
3. If the O/D OFF indicator light does not operate, continue with the inspection of voltage test.
VOLTAGE
1. Remove the rear console and front console.
2. Turn the ignition switch ON.

3. Measure the voltage at the O/D switch connector.
Description:
4. If not as specified, check for continuity at the O/D switch.
CONTINUITY
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Disconnect the O/D switch connector.
Description:
3. Check for continuity at the O/D switch.
4. Replace the selector lever knob if not as specified.
5. Check the wiring harness for continuity if the switch is operating correctly. (O/D switch to power train control module, O/D switch to body ground)
6. Connect the O/D switch connector.
7. Install the front console and rear console.
8. Connect the negative battery cable.
