Procedure






1. Start the engine.
2. Check the idle speed in P range.

Idle speed: 700-800 rpm (with parking brake applied)

3. Shift the selector lever to R range.

CAUTION: Perform steps 4 and 5 within 5 seconds to prevent possible transaxle damage.

4. Firmly depress the foot brake with the left foot and gradually depress the accelerator pedal fully with the right foot.
5. When the engine speed no longer increases, quickly read the engine to speed and release the accelerator.
6. Move the selector lever to N range and allow the engine to idle for at least one minute.

CAUTION:
- Idling for at least one minute cools the ATF and prevents its deterioration.
- Allow sufficient cooling time between each stall test.

7. Perform stall tests for the remaining ranges in the same manner.
A. D range
B. 2 range
C. 1 range

Stall speeds:
2,200 - 2,500 rpm B6 DOHC
2,300 - 2,600 rpm BP DOHC
