Inspection

NOTE: Inspect all parts and repair or replace as necessary.

OIL PUMP HOUSING, OUTER ROTOR, INNER ROTOR





1. Install the outer rotor and inner rotor.
2. Measure the clearance between the end of the oil pump housing and outer rotor and inner rotor at no less than four places along their circumferences.

Standard Clearance: 0.00079-0.0157 inch (0.02-0.04 mm)
Maximum: 0.0020 inch (0.05 mm)

3. If not as specified, replace the oil pump assembly.





4. Measure the clearance between the oil pump boss and the inner rotor in at least four places and calculate the average value.

Standard Inner diameter: 0.00157-0.00453 inch (0.04-0.115 mm)
Maximum: 0.0049 inch (0.125 mm)

5. If not within specification, replace the oil pump as an assembly.

SPRING





1. Measure the spring free length:

Outer Diameter - 0.465 inch (11.8 mm)
Free Length - 2.087 inch (53.0 mm)
Number of Coils - 12.0
Wire Diameter - 0.047 inch (1.2 mm)

2. If not as specified, replace the oil pump as an assembly.

FLUID PRESSURE BYPASS VALVE





1. Measure the fluid pressure bypass valve and check for wear.

Standard Outer diameter: 0.551 inch (14.00 mm)
Minimum: 0.550 inch (13.98 mm)

2. If not as specified, replace the oil pump as an assembly.
