Expansion Valve: Description and Operation

The expansion valve allows the high pressure liquid to expand as it enters the evaporator. By allowing the liquid to expand, it will absorb more beat in the evaporator. The valve also meters the amount of refrigerant entering the system to prevent the evaporator core from flooding.
