Compressor HVAC: Description and Operation

The compressor assembly is the primary moving part of the air conditioning system. If it fails, there is no compression of the refrigerant, and no movement of the refrigerant through the system. It is located on the left side of the engine and is connected to the engine drive shaft by a drive belt. It consists of the compressor. the manifold assembly, the magnetic clutch, and the drive pulley.
