Rear Door: Service and Repair

Removal and Installation





1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

3. Remove components in the numbered order shown in the figure.

3. Install in the reverse order of removal.

Rear Door Glass and Regulator Removal

1. Remove the inner door latch handle, door trim panel, regulator, etc.

2. Remove the window regulator and remove the latch actuator rod and the outer door handle installation nuts.





3. Remove the outer handle.





4. Remove the lock cylinder retainer, and the door key subset.





5. Remove the door lock installation screws, and then remove the door lock assembly.





6. Remove the door check pin.





7. Remove the four door hinge installation bolts, and then the door.



INSTALLATION

Install in the reverse order of removal, noting the following.

1. Apply soapy water to the outside circumference of the outer glass channel when installing the quarter window.





2. After installing the window regulator, adjust it so that the door glass moves easily and smoothly.

ADJUSTMENT

Door Strike





1. Check that the door can be closed easily and that there is no play. If there is a problem, loosen the strike installation screws and adjust the door by moving the strike vertically and/or horizontally.

2. Check the rear alignment of the door to the body. If there is a problem, adjust the door by moving the door lock strike horizontally.

Door hinges





1. Open the door, if there is play in the hinges, tighten the door hinge installation bolts (arrows).

2. To adjust the door to body alignment, loosen the door hinge installation bolts and make the adjustment.
