Oil Pan Replacement
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.2. Drain engine oil.
3. Remove front and RH splash shields.

4. Remove components in order shown, Fig. 44.

5. Using a scraper or separator tool, Fig. 45, remove oil pan, Fig. 46.
6. Remove oil strainer support bolts and oil strainer.

7. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Remove all foreign material from contact surfaces prior to installation.
b. On 1.8L engine, apply a coat of silicone sealant to front and rear oil pan gaskets and oil pan sealing surfaces, Figs. 48 and 49.
c. Tighten all fasteners to specifications.
