Clutch Service After Transmission Removal

1. Remove clutch unit in numbered sequence shown in Fig. 6. Loosen each bolt one turn at a time in a crossing pattern until spring tension is released, then remove the clutch cover and disc.

2. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Wipe bolts clean and apply sealant to bolt threads.
b. Install flywheel and secure with flywheel tool No. 0K590 111 001, or equivalent.
c. Tighten bolts in sequence shown in Fig. 7, to specifications.
d. Install new bearing with suitable pipe. Install pilot bearing flush with flywheel.
e. Clean clutch disc splines and main drive gear splines, then apply organic molybdenum sulfide grease.
f. Hold and align clutch disc in position with suitable clutch alignment tool.
g. Align dowel holes with flywheel dowels.
h. Using sequence shown in Fig. 8, torque clutch cover bolts gradually to 13-20 ft. lbs.
