Ball Joint: Testing and Inspection

1. Remove lower control arm from vehicle.
2. Place control arm with ball joint intact in a suitable vise.
3. Attach a suitable pull scale to ball joint stud and measure force required to cause continuous rotation.
4. Pull scale should read between 4.4-7.7 lbs.
5. Replace ball joint if pull scale reading is not within specifications.
