1. Raise and support vehicle, then remove wheels.Fig. 17 Manual Steering Gear Replacement:
2. Remove steering gear and linkage in numbered sequence shown in Fig. 17, noting the following:
a. Pull out cotter pin and loosen nuts until nut contacts with hole stud face.
b. Leave nuts on temporarily so screw thread does not become damaged.
c. Remove steering gear from right side of vehicle.
d. If necessary, replace gear and linkage entirely. Do not disassemble.
3. Reverse procedure to install. Tighten to specifications.
