Hazard Warning Lamps: Description and Operation

Turn lights
With the ignition switch in ON or START, battery voltage is applied through the METER fuse to the turn signal switch. With the turn signal switch in the left turn or right turn position, battery voltage is applied through the turn signal switch to the flasher module. The flasher module will alternately open and close a solid state switch which will send pulses of battery voltage to the appropriate turn lights and the turn indicator. The turn lights and indicators flash.

Hazard lights
With the hazard switch in the ON position, a ground signal is sent to the flasher module. The flasher module will alternately open and close two solid state switches which will send pulses of battery voltage to the turn lights and the turn indicators. The lights flash. The hazard lights are also operated by the electronic time and alarm control module.
