Oil Pump: Testing and Inspection

Inspect oil pump for the following:

1. Inspect pressure spring for weakness or breakage.
2. Free length should be 1.791 inches. If not, replace spring.
3. Measure the following clearances. Replace rotor if necessary:
a. Tooth tip: 0.0079 inches maximum.
b. Outer rotor to pump body: 0.0087 inches maximum.
c. Side: 0.0055 inches maximum.
