Component Inspection

Description:

OPERATION
1. Turn the ignition switch ON.
2. Verify that the HOLD /O/D OFF indicator light is not illuminated. Depress the HOLD /O/D OFF switch and verify that the HOLD /O/D OFF indicator light illuminates.
3. If the HOLD /O/D OFF indicator light does not operate, continue with the inspection of voltage test.

Description:

VOLTAGE
1. Remove the rear console and front console.
2. Turn the ignition switch ON.
3. Measure the voltage at the HOLD /O/D OFF switch connector.
4. If not as specified, check for continuity at the HOLD/HOLD /O/D OFF switch.

Description:

CONTINUITY
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Disconnect the HOLD /O/D OFF switch connector.
3. Check for continuity at the HOLD /O/D OFF switch.
4. Replace the selector lever knob if not as specified.
5. Check the wiring harness for continuity if the switch is operating correctly. (HOLD /O/D OFF switch to powertrain control module, HOLD /O/D OFF switch to body ground)
6. Connect the HOLD/OIL) OFF switch connector.
7. Install the front console and rear console.
8. Connect the negative battery cable.
