Rear Doors





1. With the ignition switch in the "ON" position, lower the door glass completely then turn the ignition switch to the "LOCK" position.





2. Remove the hand cup retaining screw and the door release handle screw.





3. Using a suitable trim panel tool (similar to Snap-On tool number A177A) carefully release the door trim panel fasteners.

4. Disconnect the power window switch connector then remove the Door Trim Panel by pushing the panel upward.

NOTE:
The door release handle will fit through the cut-out in the door trim panel.





5. Remove the door panel bracket.





6. Carefully peel the inner plastic sheet about half-way (past the motor regulator assembly) off of the inner door panel.

CAUTION:
Do not damage the inner plastic sheet because it must be re-used.





7. Remove the two (2) door glass mounting bolts from the window regulator.





8. Slide the window glass to the top of the door and secure it to the door frame using an adhesive backed tape.





9. Disconnect the power window motor connector then remove the three (3) window regulator nuts along with the two (2) nuts and one (1) bolt from the window regulator channel.





10. Carefully slide the window regulator assembly out of the door through the door panel service cut-out.

11. Install the new (Type 2) window regulator assembly into the door then reinstall the five (5) attaching nuts and one (1) bolt.

Torque the nuts and bolt to 6-8 ft-lbs.

CAUTION:
Do not over-tighten!

12. Carefully lower the window glass down into the door and install the two (2) glass mounting bolts.

CAUTION:
Hand tighten only! Do not over-tighten!

13. Reinstall the inner plastic sheet and door trim panel in reverse order of removal.

14. Check for proper operation of the window regulator and door glass.
