Ignition Timing: Adjustments

PROCEDURE

1. Warm up the engine to normal operating temperature.
2. Turn all electrical loads OFF
3. Turn the A/C switch OFF.

Data Link Connector:





4. Locate data link connector.

Jumper Wire At Data Link Connector:





5. Connect terminals ENGINE TEST and GND of the data link connector with a jumper wire.

Timing Index:





6. Check the ignition timing.

Timing: 10°±1° BTDC

7. If the ignition timing is not as specified, loosen the distributor lock bolts and turn the distributor to make the adjustment.

Distributor Lock Bolts:





8. Tighten the distributor lock bolts to the specified torque.

Torque: 19 - 25 Nm (14 - 19 ft lb)

9. Remove jumper wire from data link connector.
