Repair Procedures





Removal

1. Disconnect the battery negative terminal.
2. Remove the engine cover (A).
3. Remove the air cleaner assembly.
(1) Remove the air duct (B).
(2) Disconnect the breather hose (C) and the intensifier hose (D).
(3) Disconnect the air intake hose and then remove the air cleaner assembly (E).

Tightening torque
Hose clamp bolt:
2.9 - 4.9N.m (0.3 - 0.5kgf.m, 2.2 - 3.6lb-ft)
Air cleaner assembly bolts:
7.8 - 9.8N.m (0.8 - 1.0kgf.m, 5.8 - 7.2lb-ft)




4. Disconnect the oxygen sensor connectors (A).




5. Use the SST (Oxygen sensor socket wrench : 09392-2H100), remove the oxygen sensor (A) after disconnect the connectors from the bracket and wiring clips , and then remove the heat protector (B).

Tightening torque
Oxygen sensor:
39.2 - 49.0N.m (4.0 - 5.0kgf.m, 28.9 - 36.2lb-ft)
Heat protector bolts:
7.8 - 9.8N.m (0.8 - 1.0kgf.m, 5.8 - 7.2lb-ft)




6. Remove the front muffler (A).

Tightening torque:
39.2 - 58.8 N.m (4.0 - 6.0 kgf.m, 28.9 - 43.4 lb-ft)




7. Loosen the exhaust manifold stay bolts, and then remove the exhaust manifold (A).

Tightening torque
Stay bolts:
51.9 - 57.9N.m (5.3 - 5.9kgf.m, 38.3 - 42.7lb-ft)
Manifold nuts:
49.0 - 53.9N.m (5.0 - 5.5kgf.m, 36.2 - 39.8lb-ft)




8. Installation is reverse order of removal with a new manifold gasket.
