B1766 Body Sense Wrong ID - General Information

General Description

In order to make normal activation of airbag system, SRSCM monitors the ID Data of the Passenger side Body Detection.
If the seat is accupied, Bodysense sensor detects how passenger weighs and send signal to ACU via CAN.
ACU rcognizes the signal as 3(three) different classifications; that is, 0(Empty), 1(Small), 2(Large).
With these signal, ACU determines whether it needs to deploy PAB(Passenger Airbag) or not.

NOTE:
If you strike or spin the SRSCM at the IG "ON" state, the seat-belt pretensioner, curtain-airbag or side-airbag could be unfolded and bring on danger. Handle it with care.

DTC Description

The SRSCM sets DTC B1766 if Passenger side BodySense with wrong ID is detected.
DTC is set if initial ID data from BodySense is not the same with ACU inner data.
