B1763 Body Sense ECU Defect - General Information

General Description

In order to make normal activation of airbag system, SRSCM detects DTC(s) for the Passenger side Body Detection System.
If the seat is occupied, Bodysense sensor detects how passenger weighs and send signal to ACU via CAN.
ACU recognizes the signal as 3(three) different classifications; that is, 0(Empty), 1(Small), 2(Large).
With these signal, ACU determines whether it needs to deploy PAB(Passenger Airbag) or not.

DTC Description

The Passenger side BodySense sensor ECU sets above Diagnosis trouble code if it detects that the Passenger side BodySense sensor ECU unit is defectied.
DTC is set if Airbag ECU receives fault message from Passenger BodySense ECU via CAN communication.
