Rear Suspension Coil Spring(s) - Removal

REMOVAL

1. Raise and support the vehicle. Position a hydraulic jack under the axle to support the axle.
2. Remove the wheel and tire assembly on the side of the repair.
3. Remove the lower shock bolt (3) from the axle bracket.
4. If the left spring is being serviced, remove the left rear bolt securing the fuel tank skid plate in place. This will allow clearance for the suspension when the spring is removed.
5. Remove the stabilizer bar link from the body rail.
6. Lower the hydraulic jack and tilt the axle.
7. Pull down on the axle as necessary and remove the coil spring (4) by lifting it up and off the lower perch first.
8. Remove and inspect the spring isolators.
