Left - Exhaust Manifold



REMOVAL





1. Remove the battery and battery tray. Battery
2. Remove the engine cover.
3. Remove the air cleaner housing and clean air tube.
4. Disconnect the electrical connector (2) at the EVAP canister purge solenoid.
5. Remove the EVAP canister purge solenoid (1) from mounting bracket by lifting straight up and position aside.





6. Remove the Power Distribution Center (PDC) (1) and Integrated Power Module (IPM) (2). Power Distribution Module
7. Raise and support the vehicle.





8. Remove the front left side wheelhouse splash shield (2).





9. Remove the exhaust manifold heat shield (4) retaining nuts (5) and remove heat shield.
10. Remove the upper exhaust manifold retaining bolts (3).

NOTE: The exhaust manifold is removed from below the engine compartment.

11. Raise and support the vehicle.
12. Saturate the exhaust pipe/catalytic converter assembly flanged nuts at the exhaust manifold with heat valve lubricant, allow 5 minutes for penetration.
13. Disconnect the exhaust pipe/catalytic converter at the exhaust manifold. Catalytic Converter
14. Remove the starter. Starter Motor
15. Remove the lower exhaust manifold retaining bolts (3).
16. Remove the exhaust manifold and gasket.
17. Clean the mating surfaces.
