Left - Exhaust Manifold
INSTALLATION1. Prior to installation, make sure all gasket mating surfaces are clean and free of any debris.
NOTE: The exhaust manifold is installed from below the engine compartment.
2. Position the exhaust manifold (2) and gasket (1).
NOTE: Do not tighten exhaust manifold retainers until all retainers are in place.
3. Install the lower exhaust manifold retaining bolts (3).
4. Lower the vehicle.
5. Install the upper exhaust manifold retaining bolts (3) and tighten all manifold bolts starting at center and working outward to 25 N-m (18 ft. lbs.).
CAUTION: Over tightening heat shield fasteners, may cause shield to distort and/or crack.
6. Position the exhaust manifold heat shield (4) and install the front two heat shield retaining nuts hand tight.
7. Raise and support the vehicle.
8. Install the back two exhaust manifold heat shield retaining nuts (5) and tighten to 8 N-m (72 in. lbs.), then loosen 45 degrees.
9. Install the starter. Starter Motor
10. Connect the exhaust pipe/catalytic converter to the exhaust manifold. Catalytic Converter
11. Install the left front wheelhouse splash shield (2).
12. Lower the vehicle.
13. Tighten the front two exhaust manifold heat shield retaining nuts to 8 N-m (72 in. lbs.), then loosen 45 degrees.
14. Install the Power Distribution Center (PDC) (1) and Integrated Power Module (IPM) (2). Power Distribution Module
15. Install the EVAP canister purge solenoid (1) on the mounting bracket.
16. Connect the electrical connector (2) at the EVAP canister purge solenoid.
17. Install the air cleaner housing and clean air tube.
18. Install the engine cover.
19. Install the battery and battery tray. Battery
20. Start the engine and check for leaks.
