Camshaft Position (CMP) Sensor RH

Removal

Vehicles with 3.5L or 4.2L engine without supercharger






1. Remove the oil filler cap.






2. Remove the engine cover.

Vehicles with supercharger






1. Remove the engine cover.

All vehicles
1. Remove the cowl vent screen.






2. NOTE:
- Vehicles with supercharger shown, vehicles with 3.5L or 4.2L engine without supercharger similar.
- Left-hand shown, right-hand similar.
- Remove the engine compartment supports.

Vehicles with supercharger






1. Loosen the throttle body intake pipe retaining clip.






2. Detach the air filter outlet pipe






3. Remove the throttle body intake pipe.
- Detach the throttle body intake pipe.
- Remove the throttle body intake pipe.

All vehicles






1. NOTE:
- Right-hand drive vehicles shown, left-hand drive vehicles similar.
- Remove the engine compartment outer panel insulation.

Right-hand drive vehicles






1. Remove the engine compartment outer panel.

Left-hand drive vehicles






1. Remove the engine compartment outer access panel.

All vehicles






1. NOTE:
- Right-hand drive vehicles shown, left-hand drive vehicles similar.
- Remove the cabin air filter.
- Detach the cabin air filter.
- Remove the cabin air filter.






2. NOTE:
- Right-hand drive vehicles shown, left-hand drive vehicles similar.
- Remove the cabin filter housing.
- Remove the cabin filter housing retaining nuts.
- Remove the cabin filter housing.






3. NOTE:
- Right-hand drive vehicles shown, left-hand drive vehicles similar.
- Detach the engine compartment outer panel.
- Remove the engine compartment outer panel retaining bolt.
- Detach the engine compartment outer panel.






4. Remove the engine compartment outer panel.
- Detach the hood release cable.






5. Remove the engine compartment support spacing plate.






6. NOTE:
- Vehicles with supercharger shown, vehicles with 3.5L or 4.2L engine without supercharger similar.
- Detach the engine compartment inner panel insulation.






7. NOTE:
- Vehicles with supercharger shown, vehicles with 3.5L or 4.2L engine without supercharger similar.
- Right-hand drive vehicles shown, left-hand drive vehicles similar.
- Remove the left-hand engine compartment inner panel.






8. NOTE:
- Vehicles with supercharger shown, vehicles with 3.5L or 4.2L engine without supercharger similar.
- Left-hand drive vehicles shown, right-hand drive vehicles similar.
- Remove the right-hand engine compartment inner panel.






9. Detach the camshaft position (CMP) sensor electrical connector.






10. Disconnect the CMP sensor electrical connector.






11. Remove the CMP sensor.

Installation






1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- Tighten to 7 Nm.






2. NOTE:
- Vehicles with supercharger shown, vehicles with 3.5L or 4.2L engine without supercharger similar.
- Left-hand shown, right-hand similar.
- Tighten to 25 Nm.
