Drive Shaft Fasteners - Revised Torque Specifications

Issue:

Revised torque specifications have been introduced in production for the nuts and bolts that secure the drive shaft to the transmission and final drive flanges, from VIN 004855.

Action:

The revised torque specifications now used in production should be used on all XK8 vehicles if the drive shaft fasteners are loosened. Always install new nylon-insert nuts. The existing bolts may be re-used if they are undamaged.
