Incorrect Compliance Labels - Replace With Corrected Label - Service Action S834

Issue:

A number of specific XKR Coupe vehicles within the above range have been built with incorrect weights on compliance label applied to the B-post

Action:

Remove the label on affected vehicles (see VIN list) and replace it with the correct label supplied to you directly from Jaguar Cars. When possible, perform this procedure at PDI. However, for vehicles already released to customers, arrange for those vehicles to be returned to the dealer for this service action..

Note:
This Service Action applies to those vehicles listed in the VIN list only.

REPLACEMENT PROCEDURE

1. Locate the existing compliance label on the lower portion of the left side B-post

2. Check that the VIN on the replacement compliance label is the same as the VIN on the existing label.

3. Carefully peel the label off the vehicle and place it in an envelope to be returned to Jaguar Cars. If damage occurs so that the VIN becomes illegible, write the VIN alongside the label, or on the envelope, so that the removed label may be identified. All removed labels are to be returned to the address below:

USA and Canada

Jaguar Cars Product Compliance and Legislation Dept.
555 MacArthur Boulevard
Mahwah New Jersey, 07430
Att.: Dianne Black-Nixon

4. With cleaning fluid, clean the area where the replacement label will be applied. Allow the fluid to dry off fully.

5. Peel the backing paper from the label, position it to its location, and apply firm pressure to ensure good adhesion.

Parts Information:

The necessary replacement compliance labels will be supplied on a free of charge basis, directly from Jaguar Cars to each dealer that has sold one of these vehicles.

These VIN-specific labels will be sent to the attention of the Jaguar Service Manager. If you have not sold this vehicle and believe you have received these labels in error, please return them to Jaguar Cars Product Compliance and Legislation Dept. to the attention of Dianne Black-Nixon.

Warranty Information:

As the replacement labels have been provided free of charge direct from Jaguar, there is no requirement to enter a part number.

Return of the removed labels is mandatory. Failure to return the label(s) can result in a debit of the warranty claim. It must be possible for Jaguar to identify the VIN on each label (refer to step 3).

Warranty claims must be submitted in accordance with current Jaguar Warranty Policy and Procedures Manual and its amendments.

NOTE:
Always perform a DCS claim search first to determine whether this service action has been performed on this vehicle. The warranty selection under the vehicle inquiry will give a listing of all claims against the vehicle. If S834 appears in the fault code field, do not perform this service action.

CLAIM SUBMISSION PROCEDURE:

Warranty summary codes have been assigned to this service action in order to simplify claim submission. The dealership will be reimbursed the parts and labor time allowance as indicated.
