Hose - Pump to Steering Rack

Removal

1. Open engine compartment and fit paintwork protection covers.

2. Raise vehicle on a four-post ramp.





3. Place a drain pan under steering rack.

4. Remove retaining straps which secure hose to steering rack.





5. Disconnect hose from steering rack.
- Remove bolt from retaining plate.
- Release hose, hold it clear of steering rack and allow fluid to drain.
- Fit blanking plugs to hose and steering rack port.
- Remove drain pan and discard fluid.





6. From above the vehicle, disconnect hose from pump.
- Release union nut.
- Disconnect hose.
- Fit blanking plugs to hose and pump port.





7. From below the vehicle remove hose.
- Remove hose.
- Remove mounting rubbers from hose.

Installation





1. Installation is reverse of removal procedure.

2. Secure hose to track.
- Locate hose and retaining plate.
- Fit and tighten bolt.





3. Fit hose to pump.
- Remove blanking plug from hose.
- Fit a new O-ring seal to hose.
- Remove blanking plug from pump.
- Fit and tighten union nut.

4. Refill with new fluid and bleed air from the system.
