Removal
Removal
1. Power convertible top to fully lowered position.
2. Remove battery cover and disconnect ground cable from battery terminal. Service and Repair
3. Remove trunk floor carpet.
4. Remove trunk front liner.
5. Remove trunk rear finisher.
6. Remove trunk RH liner.
7. Position a piece of absorbent cloth on trunk floor to protect paintwork from any fluid spillage.
8. Sever and remove tie strap securing hydraulic pump hose to pump harness.
9. Mark with location and slacken and disconnect hydraulic hoses from pump.
10. Remove and discard 'O' ring seals from hose connectors and fit blanking plugs to hoses and pump connectors.
11. Remove rear seat cushion. Body and Frame, Seats. Seats
12. Remove rear seat squab. Refer to Body and Frame, Seats. Seats
13. Remove LH rear quarter casing capping.
14. Remove LH rear quarter casing.
15. Remove LH rear speaker (premium ICE only). Refer to Radio, Stereo, and Compact Disc. Speaker
16. Remove front LH seat. Refer to Body and Frame, Seats. Seats
17. Remove 'J' gate surround.
18. Remove center console. Refer to Body and Frame, Interior Trim. Console
19. Remove LH sill treadplate.
20. Remove glovebox. Refer to Body and Frame, Interior Trim. Glove Compartment
21. Remove fascia LH end fusebox.
22. Remove roof console.
23. Remove sun visors and retention bezels.
24. Remove 'A' post upper trim finishers.
25. Where applicable disconnect microphone harness multiplug.
26. Carefully remove and discard fir tree fastener retaining trim finisher on header rail and remove finisher from header rail.
27. Remove convertible top latch assembly cover panel. Refer to Convertible Top Latch. Service and Repair
28. Disconnect convertible top harness multiplug.
29. Release hydraulic hose retaining clips from LH upper A post.
30. Release sun visor multiplugs from retainers on latch assembly bracket.
31. Position a piece of absorbent cloth in LH footwell to protect vehicle interior from any fluid spillage.
32. Slacken and remove the latch assembly to BIW header lower securing screws.
33. Slacken and remove the latch assembly to BIW header upper securing screws.
34. NOTE: When carrying out the following operation, do not disturb securing bolts installed in the open-ended slots.
Slacken and remove the latch assembly to BIW header rear securing screws.
35. Supporting latch assembly, slacken but do not remove securing screws installed in rear open-ended slots.
36. Withdraw latch assembly, position in LH footwell and sever and remove tie straps securing hoses to latch hydraulic cylinder and harness.
37. Mark latch hydraulic cylinder hoses with locations and disconnect hoses from cylinder assembly.
38. Remove and discard 'O' ring seals from hoses and fit blanking plugs to hoses and hydraulic cylinder connectors.
39. Remove and discard tape securing hoses to 'A' post adjacent to top of fascia.
40. Withdraw hoses from retaining clips in fascia LH end fusebox aperture.
41. Route hoses from behind fascia to lower 'A' post.
42. Remove tape securing hoses to front of inner sill.
43. Lift edge of LH carpet for access, sever and remove tie straps securing hoses and release hoses from BIW clips.
44. Release hoses from spring clip at transmission tunnel and draw hoses under carpet to tunnel.
45. Lift LH carpet at transmission tunnel and heel board and release hoses from retaining clips.
46. Withdraw hoses from under transmission tunnel insulation, harness and carpet.
47. Rotate hydraulic pump valve fully counter-clockwise to the manual operation position.
48. Manually move convertible top to fully up position.
49. Sever and remove tie traps securing hoses to power cable and rear harness.
50. Carefully withdraw hoses through BIW aperture into vehicle interior and remove from vehicle.
