Engine Oil Capacity - Increased Level - New Dipstick

Issue:
As a running change in production, introduced early in 2000 Model Year XK8 and V8 XJ Series vehicles, the engine oil fill has been increased by 1.0 liter from the VINs listed above. This has been achieved by installing a revised dipstick, part no. XR8 2806.

The data concerning oil sump capacity in the customer literature accompanying certain vehicles from the above VINs will be incorrect, until supplies of handbooks and maintenance information containing the revised information become available.

Action:
Where appropriate, customers taking delivery of 2000 Model Year XK8 and V8 XJ Series vehicles from the above VINs should be advised of this change. A supplement outlining the change in specification will be included with the owner's handbook.

Service Literature is similarly affected and will be updated as soon as possible.
