Sagging Headlining - Door Area - Repair Procedure

Issue:

Some XK Series Coupes may experience the headlining sagging over the door area allowing a raw edge of of trim to show on either side. This bulletin describes a procedure to eliminate this problem.

Action:

In case of a customer complaint of a sagging headlining over the door area on the above vehicles, follow the procedure below:





1. Open the vehicle door and pull down the door seal to expose the head lining trim and body in white. (Illustration 1).





2. Carefully pull the trim/cloth away from the headlining molding in the areas shown (Illustration 2).





3. Insert the clips (two per side) so that they slide over the headlining between the soft trim/cloth and the backing (Illustration 3) and push over the body in white.





4. Reinstall the door seal, covering the newly installed clips (See Illustration 4).
