Monitoring Procedure

The ECM consistently monitors the fuel use and rationalizes this with the fuel level signal from the instrument cluster via the CAN system. Should the monitored amount of the fuel used not equate to a proportional fall in the fuel level signal, a failure judgement will be made.

NOTE: Signals from the sensor are received by the instrument cluster, then transferred to the CAN system for the ECM to monitor and perform the diagnostics.
