Knock Sensor: Service and Repair

Removal
1. Disconnect battery ground cable. Service and Repair
2. Remove appropriate engine cover for access.





NOTE: Bank 1 shown.

3. Disconnect knock sensor connector from mounting bracket.





4. Disconnect connector.





NOTE: Bank 1 shown.

5. Using special tools, crowfoot and extension, remove knock sensor.


Installation
1. Installation is a reversal of the removal procedure. See Battery Reconnection Procedure. Service and Repair
2. Tighten sensor to 31 - 41 Nm.
