Operation

Four separate ignition coils are mounted to each camshaft cover, directly above the spark plugs and are controlled by the ECM via the ignition control modules.

The on-plug coil module comprises an encapsulated step up transformer with a direct push on, shrouded connection to the spark plug.
The 12V primary is supplied via the two pin top connector. The coil modules are bolted to the camshaft cover above each spark plug
